Other issues

My Hotpoint fridge/ freezer smells due to a spillage

If there has been a spillage inside your Hotpoint appliance it should be cleaned up as soon as possible to avoid smells caused by bacteria build up within your Hotpoint appliance.

Should any spills have found their way through to the water-collecting tray on the rear of the appliance situated just above the compressor, it will need to be cleaned out using an antibacterial solution such as water and bicarbonate of soda or sterilising fluid as used for babies bottles.

Alternatively you may wish to purchase our own recommended fridge cleaner which is available from our parts and accessories store or call our spares department on 08448 225 225

What is the chiller compartment for in my Frost-Free?

The bottom of your Hotpoint fridge compartment is always the coldest area of your appliance. Placing food on this section of your fridge will almost certainly result in rapid cooling of any ‘cook-quick’ food items such as ready meals that just need cooking quickly in the microwave.

Liquids should always be placed above this compartment otherwise there is a strong chance that liquids will freeze if left on the base of your fridge compartment.

The light does not go out on my built in fridge/ freezer

If the interior light does not go out after you have closed the door on your built in Hotpoint appliance it is more than likely that the outer décor door of your cupboards is not fitted properly.

This can result in the appliance door not being allowed to close fully, keeping the appliances inner light on.
