This film covers how to deal with removing all the transit bolts which are designed to keep the drum in place while its transit. Before you use your machine for the first time it is very important you remove these bolts otherwise the machine could be badly damaged and will not be covered by the guarantee. Your user manual will also tell you how to do this.

How you will know there is a problem: If you have forgotten to remove them, your machine will be extremely noisy and vibrate considerably. Please ensure that the appliance is disconnected from the electricity mains supply before carrying out any work on it. Unwrap the appliance; please follow the instruction on the appliance. It is also very important to remove the whole of the polyester base block. To remove the transit bolts you will need either a spanner or a socket. Locate the bolt head and unwind in anti-clockwise direction until the bolt and spacers can be removed in one go. Make sure you have removed all of the transit bolts. Please retain these for future use in case you need to move the appliance.

Open the appliance door and remove instructions and fill hoses of the appliance. Then gently rock the inner drum backward and forwards to make sure there is free movement and give the inner drum a spin to makes sure it turns freely. If you’re still experiencing problems please refer to your user handbook which can also be downloaded from the user handbook section on our web site.

Recap: Unwrap the appliance. Unscrew transit bolts turning anticlockwise. Please remember that different appliances have different transit bolts. Place your hand in the drum and rock back and forth. If it moves freely, the transit bolts have been removed. Keep transit bolts for future transports.
